چکیده

The intensity and the frequency of extreme drought are increasing worldwide. An elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration could counterbalance negative impacts water shortage; however, wheat genotypes show high variability in terms reactions. development root system is a key parameter abiotic stress resistance. In our study, biomass grain production, as well growth three winter-wheat varieties were examined under optimum watering simulated combination with ambient concentrations. was monitored by CI-600 situ imager photos analyzed RootSnap software. As result shortage, yield-related parameters decreased, but most substantial yield reduction first detected Mv Karizma. shortage influenced depth intensive development, while water-limited conditions, formation occurred deeper soil layers. observed until heading, maximum length recorded at beginning heading. period took longer concentration. induced an accelerated almost every layer, generally, fertilization all each treatment.

Vernalisation Response of Some Winter Wheat Cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.)

For 17 cultivars of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) different vernalisation and photoperiod responses were detected. The effect of photoperiod sensitivity was not significantly changed by vernalisation; different vernalisation responses were probably due to the presence of multiple alleles at Vrn loci. The delay in heading depended on the vernalisation deficit exponentially: y = parameter (...

The wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf proteome.

The wheat leaf proteome was mapped and partially characterized to function as a comparative template for future wheat research. In total, 404 proteins were visualized, and 277 of these were selected for analysis based on reproducibility and relative quantity. Using a combination of protein and expressed sequence tag database searching, 142 proteins were putatively identified with an identificat...

Effects of TiO2 nanoparticles on wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) seedlings cultivated under super-elevated and normal CO2 conditions

Concerns over the potential risks of nanomaterials to ecosystem have been raised, as it is highly possible that nanomaterials could be released to the environment and result in adverse effects on living organisms. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the main greenhouse gases. The level of CO2 keeps increasing and subsequently causes a series of environmental problems, especially for agricultural cro...

Stability of four Croatian bread winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars for quality traits

Stability of breadmaking quality of four Croatian bread winter wheat cultivars was investigated using rheological traits from the farinogram (dough development time, stability, degree of soening, water absorption, Hankoczy quality number) and the extensogram (extensibility, maximum resistance, ratio of resistance to extensibility, energy) and the indirect traits (protein content, wet gluten co...
